This is an interactive informative writing activity that is integrated with some basic math skills (i.e., counting and graphing data). Students will learn how to make frozen fruit pops by gathering the required materials and actually making their own fruit pops! Students will be highly engaged in writing the step-by-step process for making this delicious treat!

-Warm Up -“What’s your favorite fruit flavor?” graphing activity. As a class, complete the graph to help brainstorm ideas about which flavor to use for you frozen fruit pops. (Page 3)
-Sample Step-By-Step Book- Read this sample "how-to" book with students to understand how to use teaching/transition words (i.e., first, then, next, & last) to organize your writing. (Pages 4-8)
-Teaching/Transition Words Pages & Blank Writing Pages- Student have the choice to use writing paper with teaching words preprinted or blank writing paper to practice writing their transition words independently. Each page also has a small box in the upper right-hand corner to fill in page numbers. (Pages 9-18).
