Product Description
Eight accessible short stories for senior high school students studying the theme of discovery. 'A Tempest' reworks a famous scene from Shakespeare, while 'On the Road' tells a biblical scene from a new perspective. 'A Nameless Wind' reminds us that there are discoveries all around us, and 'Between the Trees' shows a boy discovering a new part of himself when he spies on a girl. 'Uncle Charlie' poses the question of what how we would feel if we discovered something dreadful in our own family, and 'Iris and Arthur' considers the discovery of old age. 'The Swimmer' and 'Black Magic' are about private moments of discovery by men who present one face to the world and maintain a different dialogue within. Some of these stories were written under 40-minute exam conditions, others have been published in literary journals.

All stories come with review questions and sample answers.
