This assignment was created using the Ontario curriculum for HSP3U and HSP3C (Introduction to Anthropology, Sociology & Psychology). There are TWO assignments in this download!
A print & go assignment to help students apply their understanding of the distinctions between Anthropology, Sociology & Psychology. Students will investigate a celebrity known for their unusual behaviour and will create an assignment that connects the celebrity's behaviour to the three disciplines of social science.
University level: Students will develop an inquiry model based off of their research question and hypothesis. They will then test their hypothesis by researching the A/S/P forces that may have influenced the celebrity's behaviour. Finished product from student should be 3-4 pages in length.
College level: Students will research the celebrity and will categorize the influences into A/S/P. Finished product from student should be 3-4 pages in length.
Both assignments come with criterion based rubrics using appropriate KTCA categories and have been used and tested in my own classroom.
The Ontario expectations met in this assignment are:
U level: (Thinking) A2.1, (Communication) A3.2, 3.5, 4.3 (Application) B2, C2, D2
C level: (Knowledge) A1.1, (Communication) A3.4, 4.3 (Application) A3.3
This product now includes a clip art version and a non-clip art version. I've also included a version with Americanized spelling and a more generic rubric should a teacher outside of Ontario be interested in this product.
