Product Description
This bundle purchase is for 10 various assignment sheets focusing on the human body. These assignments are perfect for either in-class work, homework, or extra credit. Each worksheet is designed for Grades 5th – 8th but some minor changes should make them perfect for older or younger students as needed.

Included with this bundle package are the following assignments:

1) HUMAN BODY HEALTHY EATING PACKET
*4-page article YOUR GUIDE TO HEALTHY EATING (works great in science, language arts, health, or P.E. classrooms)
*Question sheet with 24 questions of varying styles that will encourage students to refer to the article and think beyond the article to their own life (questions also focus on key vocabulary)
*Healthy Eating Planning Chart which allows students to reflect on their own eating choices over the course of a seven day week
*Healthy Food Vocabulary Map which allows students to take eating examples from the article and build a semantic map
*Wordsearch Puzzle and Sentence Writing which helps students refer back to key vocabulary and concepts from the article (answer key provided)

2) HUMAN BODY WORDSEARCH
This vocabulary wordsearch is great for science or language arts classes.
The front side is a wordsearch with 21 human body system and organ terms.
The back side requires students to match the two correct organs with the right body system (again using the 21 words from the front).
A perfect worksheet for either in-class, homework, or extra credit.

3) HUMAN BODY WEBQUEST & PUZZLE PAGE
The following assignment can be used in the school's computer lab, as homework, or as extra credit.
The focus of the assignment is Human Body Systems. Students research 4 body systems on the Internet to find key organs and facts. A vocabulary puzzle sheet focusing on the human body is also included.

4) ACTIVITY : SKELETAL SYSTEM MEASUREMENT & GRAPH (PDF)
This is a fun measuring activity centering around the basics of the skeletal system. It's a perfect 1-2 lesson with partners (or groups)for either science or math class as it incorporates: names of the skeletal system bones, measuring (in cm), data collection, and graphing.
Materials needed: students will need either a ruler, meter stick, or tape measure (depending on accuracy).
Included:
*Skeletal System Measuring Paper - students make 13 key measurements of different parts of the skeletal system (femur, humerus, height, etc...)
*Data Collection Paper - students organize their own data and then choose one item to travel around the classroom and gather data from classmates.
*Bar Graph - students set up the vertical & horizontal axis and design a graph for their collected data.
This is a great activity for either an introduction to any of these topics or else as a review. I use this with my 7th grade human body unit, but minor changes will make this work for younger or older grades.

5) DNA ALIEN PROJECT (PDF)
Here's a fun 2-3 day art activity that can help boost any science unit that focuses on genetics (DNA, Punnett Square, etc...).
DNA ALIEN - This lesson tasks students with using DNA codes to design an alien with 8 basic physical characteristics. Each part of the alien has several options. Additional papers help students use their drawing for additional tasks such as: Venn Diagramming, questions, and writing.
Included with this purchase:
*DNA Alien Direction Sheet
*DNA Alien Drawing Sheet
*DNA Alien Example (perfect for visual cue at the start)
*Two Venn Diagrams (for comparing/contrasting DNA Aliens and working toward a compare/contrast short write)
*Question Sheet (for use as a conclusion)
I have used this activity for many years and students love the artistic creativity and sharing their DNA Aliens on school showcases and bulletin boards when we have finished. With a few tweaks this activity can be used at upper elementary or lower high school grades as well.

6) HUMAN BODY POWER POINT / PREZI PROJECT
This is the directions for a Power Point / Prezi Project that focuses on human body systems, human body organs, and human body cells.
Students are required to complete a 14-slide presentation that includes: key definitions, facts, and goals of 4 body systems, 4 body organs, and 4 body cells.

7) HUMAN BODY INTERNET SCAVENGER HUNT
This worksheet is great for use in your school's computer lab, with iPads, or as a homework assignment.
This is a 20-question Internet scavenger hunt focusing on all aspects of the human body. It's great to use as review, as an introduction to a unit, and provides excellent material for classroom discussion.

8) HUMAN BODY VOCABULARY PUZZLE
This worksheet is perfect for homework or extra credit in either science or language arts classes.
The front side offers a vocabulary puzzle of a variety of human body systems, organs, and cells. The back side requires students to write fact sentences using words from the puzzle.

9) HUMAN BODY FACEBOOK PAGE PROJECT (PDF)
This purchase is for a simple project that science teachers can include with their unit on the human body (works well with middle school or high school as the main factor will simply be time required for completion).
*Webquest : students will choose one body system from the provided list and research some basic facts about the system (key organs, diseases, measurements, surgeries, etc...)
*Facebook Page Creation : the checklist-directions instruct students to design an imaginary Facebook Page for this body system. All information is used from their Webquest Research Page.
The project works best using MS-Word but can also be done as an artwork project (provided all facts have been researched in advance). An example page is provided for the Integumentary System.

10) HUMAN BODY VOCABULARY QUIZ PACKET
This study guide and quiz are for an introduction to a unit on Human Body Systems and Organs for grades 5-10. The focus is on 20 key terms and the quiz can easily be changed into a simple review assignment as well.
*Study Guide - includes the definitions of 20 science terms such as: digestive system, skeletal system, circulatory system, heart, kidneys, brain, and more.
