I use this book in the last week of my plant unit to discuss how plants are the same and different in different locations. Students can write a fact about a plant in each environment and then illustrate. I'm not the super crafty person I know some of you are, but here are a few ways to spice up the illustrations:
-for the forest picture, students can tear tissue paper or finger paint to make the leaves
-for the desert picture, students can draw a cactus and then glue grains of rice to make the prickly parts
-for the ocean picture, students can draw a picture with crayons, and then paint blue water colors on top of it to give it an ocean-y look
This can also be used to write about animals in different habitats.
This book includes the following habitats:
There is also a blank page in case you'd like to add your own habitat and 2 different covers to best fit your needs!
I hope you enjoy this!
