Included in this set are five activities designed to meet the NGSS second grade standard for habitats:
-Make observations of plants and animals to compare the diversity of life in different habitats.
The labs and activities included are as follows:
-Land and Water Sort
-Global Habitat Sort
-Science Research Writing
-How do animals live in the arctic?
-How do desert plants hold water?
All of the labs are hands-on and second grade friendly. The labs require some materials, but most of them are common classroom objects. You will want to make sure you have a sizable collection of the little plastic animals for two of these activities. The labs can be completed in groups, individually, in pairs, or as a whole group depending on your specific classroom needs. Each lab includes the materials needed, directions, and reflection questions. Some labs also have activity sheets where needed.
