Citizens of all ages need to understand the Constitution. This 8-page mini-unit allows some 'friendly tinkering' in order to better understand this critical document. Students will translate the Preamble from emojis, describe important topics in exactly 4,543 words (same as the Constitution), consider what Einstein, MLK, Lincoln & others have to say about the Law of the Land, and debate Originalism vs. Living Document. Multi-media resources, critical thinking, and a bit of humor round out this exploration.
