This worksheet provides a concise method of instruction and review in the structure of haiku.
For instruction, students are reminded that this poetry is usually about nature, is three lines long, and follows a 5-7-5 syllable format. To practice this form, sample poems are provided for the students to evaluate, and thought starters are given so students can practice following the structure of haiku.
This is an excellent class activity in preparation for students writing their own haiku.
