Product Description
Students will begin by researching a specific event from the Civil Rights Movement (there is a list available on the Civil Rights Timeline worksheet). They will use the research guide to answer the "Who, What, Where, When, Why and How".

They will use the information from their research guide to create a poster to present to the class. There is an example poster for them to view. As they present, students will take notes in the timeline of each event. By the end they should have an understanding of some of the main events in the Civil Rights Movement and be able to apply that background knowledge to the movie.

Students will then watch the movie and answer the viewing guide questions. After the movie students will answer the post viewing questions and work on a song lyric activity with a partner.
