This worksheet goes with the short National Geographic article found at: https://www.nationalgeographic.com/news/2016/08/haiti-cholera-crisis-united-nations-admission/

This is a short article that is perfect for practicing close reading, real-world problem solving, and situational analysis. The worksheet has ten questions - eight of the questions are answered by the reading, and two questions are answered by the student based on their comprehension of the article. This is a current events, real-world situation, and deals with international relations, health care, population, communicable diseases, infrastructure problems, disaster recovery, and third world issues.

This assignment can be used with environmental science, health, current events journalism, and biology classes. It is recommended for individual reading, but could be assigned for one-on-one cooperative learning or small groups.
