Halloween Writing and Patterning Fun! CCS Aligned
This Halloween product is a great addition to your Halloween stations / workshop. It can be used as Morning Work or part of the Literacy/ Math centers.
Students work on: improving vocabulary, use their schemata when describing Halloween related pictures, patterning, improving reading and writing skills.
This product includes:
Writing prompt – Halloween “This is how I stay safe on Halloween”
Writing prompt – Halloween “On Halloween I like to / My favorite costume” (1 page)
“My Halloween Patterning Book”. Students color the Halloween pictures and correctly identify the patterns. Students create patterns by reading the cvc words, cutting the corresponding images and pasting them in the correct pattern format.
CVC Halloween words – 4 task cards. Students label the pictures.
Sentences. Students trace, write and finish sentences. The focus is on sight words as well as on proper letter formation and proper conventions of writing. 4 pages.
Label the Halloween pictures and/or write the initial letter sound and/or write the ending letter sound. 1 page with 6 images/pictures.
Writing prompts: 6 writing prompts all related to the 6 Halloween images/pictures.
Suggestions/Ideas cards for each type of activity.
I recommend this for kindergartners, 1st graders and remedial 2nd graders. It is also useful for Resource and SPED professionals and for homeschoolers.
