This Halloween themed fly-swatting activity is for practicing the rhythmic concept of sixteenth notes (ti-ka-ti-ka). Other rhythms include the quarter note (ta), paired eighth notes (ti-ti) and the quarter rest (ta rest).
Project onto a whiteboard or Smartboard for best results.
Ideal as a starter or closing activity.
The first set of 16 slides have one rhythmic pattern per page for you to prepare your students before playing the game. The next set of 14 pages each have two rhythmic patterns per page and come with an embedded audio file. The third set of seven pages each have three rhythmic patterns per page, each with an embedded audio file.
Stick notation with note heads is used.
This activity could be used as a team game or could also be used for individual assessment purposes.
