The skits are a half page in size, printed two on a page. Each student has approximately 8 speaking parts, which makes this perfect for a one day reading activity. The skit provides multiple places for students to fill in blanks giving information about themselves (or actually they could make it up too.... be creative). This will help build community in the classroom as students work with a partner to fill in the blanks and then recite it for the class. Most will end up with some level of humor, which is always fun.
Once given the skits and matched up with a partner, the two students will work together to decide who is student 1 and 2, and then they will work together to fill in the blanks on the skit.
A few of the topics they will fill in information on are: something scary, what their costume might be, favorite candy, and a few more.
If your students are like mine, they will look forward to the skits being recited by their friends.
This activity provides for: Building literacy skills, fluency, cooperative learning, filling in parts of speech to create complete sentences, speaking in front of peers, and so much more.
