"Halloween Addition Challenge"
This resource is an instructional game geared toward helping students learn and practice adding either two or three single digit numbers. It requires each set of players to have 2-3 dice. 2 different game boards are included at 2 levels, and each is available in full color and in black and white. The first game cards work with 2 addends and the second set uses 3 addends. Your entire class can play the same game at different levels! For students who struggle, consider providing an addition table for them to check their work.
The purpose of this game is to build addition fluency. Students roll dice, add the numbers, and find the sums on the “Happy Halloween” board. They will begin to understand that certain sums appear more frequently! Feel free to laminate the cards to use over and over or print in black and white and have the students write directly on them.
