Solving Multi-step Equations Scavenger Hunt
The objective of this activity is for students to solidify their knowledge of solving multi-step equations in a way that is engaging and requires student discourse. *Answer key included*
Print each of the following pages on colored paper and hang around the room (my students also loved it when I placed some of pages in the hallway). This will give you 12 stations (12 problems). Give each student the Scavenger Hunt Worksheet. In small groups, the students will first pick a problem to begin with. They should use the figure on that station to write down the problem in the corresponding spot on their handout. The students will then solve the equation and use that answer to find the figure that corresponds to that answer, which will then lead them to their next station.
*Helpful hint: place the pages for each station out of order so the students have to move all around to find the next station.
