This is a comprehensive lesson that addresses new vocabulary, use of context clues, story elements, story retell, comparing and contrasting, answering "wh" questions, and prepositions. It is a great accompaniment to the book, The Biggest Pumpkin Ever and follows the progression of the story to teach and encourage use of context clues. This lesson is complete with learning goals and scales. I strongly recommend chunking this lesson into small digestible bites to address the concepts at a pace that is comfortable for all of your students. The preposition activity at the end can be displayed on a smart board for interactive play, or the pumpkins can be printed, cut, laminated and used as a literacy center activity. I have been able to use this lesson with both my language and articulation students for a fun engaging session. I hope you enjoy and thank you for visiting my site!
