Halloween is an exciting time in the classroom! It allows students to practice important skills in a new and different way. Students look forward to this holiday-help them to celebrate and enjoy centers and activities aligned to the common core all week!
This Halloween Pack Includes:
Ordering and Sorting: students can order pumpkins from 1-120 (counting by 1s, 2s, 5s, or 10s,) sort pumpkins into odd and even numbers, and sort pumpkins into less than and greater than 60. Printables for each of these centers to help hold students accountable for their center work as well as to help the teacher check for understanding of each of the concepts listed above.
Making 10: Students will use candy corn pieces to find many ways to make 10 (with numbers as well as with ten frames.) Printables to check for understanding and to help hold students accountable for this concept.
Adding 2 and 3 addends to find a given sum. Students will add numbers (using 2 and 3 addends.) Students will match spiders to their correct web as they find the sum of the addition equation. Printables to check for understanding and to help hold students accountable for this concept.
Ten Frames: Students will match ten frames, numbers and number words together. Printables to check for understanding and to help hold students accountable for this concept.
Extra addition practice: 2 roll, add, and color games (using 2 and 3 dice.)
Making Words Center/Activity: Students use the word "Halloween" to see how many individual words they can create.
Writing Centers/Activities: 2 writing prompt papers for students. There is also a bulletin board idea complete with real examples from my classroom.

K.CC.A.1 Count to 100 by ones and tens.
K.CC.A.2 Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1.)
K.NBT.A.1 Compose and decompose numbers
K.OA.A.3 Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way.
K.OA.A.4 For any number from 1 to 9, find the number that makes 10 when added to the given number.
1.NBT.A.1.Count to 120, starting at any number less than 120.
1.NBT.B.2b The numbers from 11 to 19 are composed of a ten and one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, or nine ones.
1.OA.B.4 Understand subtraction as an unknown-addend problem.
1.OA.C.6 Add and subtract within 20, demonstrating fluency for addition and subtraction within 10.
