Product Description
Literacy Centers to use in your classroom all with a Halloween Theme. In this packet you will receive 5 Hands On Engaging Literacy Centers to use in your classroom. Each comes with instructions, cards needed, and answer/recording sheets. The game can be played individually or with multi players. The centers would also work well with small groups.

This is what you will receive:

1. Spooky ABC Sort
There are 6 Halloween themed cards. Each card has a set of words on it. The student is to put each set of words in ABC order and record answers on "Spooky Answer Sheet".
2. Going Batty for Contractions
There are 12 matches to be made. The student turns the card over and matches the contraction with the correct word. The students then record answers on an answer sheet.
3. Frankie's Fact or Opinion
There are 18 Frankenstein themed cards. The players take turns reading the card and decide if it is a fact or opinion. The student then records answers on answer sheet.
4. Dracula's Noun or Adjective Sort
There are 18 Dracula themed playing cards. The players take turns drawing a card and reading the word on it. They then decide if the word is a noun or adjective. They place the card in the correct spot on the sorting mat. Then answers are recorded on answer sheet.
5. A Pumpkin Patch of Synonyms and Antonyms
Players take turns drawing a pumpkin themed card. They read the group of words on the card and decide if it is an antonym or synonym. They then place the card in the correct spot on the sorting mat and record answers on sheet.

I have also included two writing prompts.
1. The first has the student to describe why they enjoy Halloween.
2. The second has the student to describe or come up with the best Halloween costume. They write about the costume giving details and draw a picture of their perfect costume.

These Literacy Centers have been designed to align with Common Core.

Each game can be played individually or multi players.
