This Halloween / Day of the Dead Color by Number Pair Check Review Activity is a fun, editable review activity for any content that you are currently teaching! Your students will complete this fun color-by-number review by choosing the correct answer from 3 choices for each of 14 different questions. Then, they will color the sections of their picture, which is either Side A or Side B of this sugar skull picture! To check their answers, the students will get together with someone who has the opposite side of the picture. When the two pictures are put together, the colors and designs should match up from side to side.
The students can simply fold their picture on the seam to check, or for fun classroom decor, they can cut out their half of the picture and tape it to a partner’s! Side A and Side B will ask the students the same questions, but the multiple choice answers are mixed up so they can’t simply peek at their partner’s page.
The question/answer tables are editable for your needs. You can either hand-write the questions/answers into the table and make copies for your students, or you can type into the editable version, which is included in this product download.
I have included various options so that you can use this activity in multiple ways!:
✎ Teacher-Made: For shorter questions and answers, the teacher can type or hand-write the questions and multiple choice answers on the smaller version of the tables then print an equivalent number of Sides A and B so the students can match up and check their colors after completing the activity.
✎ Teacher-Made: For longer questions and answers, the teacher can type or hand-write the questions and multiple choice answers on the larger version of the tables then print an equivalent number of Sides A and B so the students can match up and check their colors after completing the activity.
✎ Student-Made: Allow individuals or pairs of students to create their own review game! They will write their own questions and possible multiple choice answers in the table and decide which colors to use on the picture. There is an ‘answer key’ that shows their colors; have individuals/partner pairs trade their sheets and complete each others’ activity!
✎ To differentiate the student-made activity for lower-level students, you could type/write in the questions and have the students come up with 3 multiple-choice answers, OR you could give them the answer sheet for which color is correct for each question and have them write the questions and 3 possible answers, being sure to put the correct answer in the square containing the correct color.
