Count the Room
Counting
Math Center

Searching for a fun new way for your students to practice counting groups from 1-8 this Halloween?
Want a center that is little to no prep but has your little 'ghosts and goblins' up and about?
Need a center that can be used several ways and can be differentiated?

This Halloween Faces themed 'count the room' activity will engage your independent learners and they will have no idea they are practicing counting and writing numbers 1-8!

This is a great way to introduce 'count the room' and is perfect for students who are just learning about counting, finding numbers and/or writing numbers.

They are sure to find this center 'spook'-tacular!

The center can also be used as a 'stationary' center rather than count the room. Place cards in baskets and/or buckets rather than tape around the room!

You can use it in a Halloween themed sensory bin too! Simply fill your bin/bucket with artificial leaves, paper shredded in Halloween colors, etc! Add these cards and have students pull and match number to picture cards or pull picture cards and record the number of faces on their recording sheet!

Use it for early finishers basket too!

This Pack Includes:
*Directions/Suggestions for use

*8 Counting Cards with Halloween Faces

*8 Number Cards

*3 Recording Sheets PLUS Answer Sheets

Directions/Suggestions For Use:
Print and laminate cards. Tape cards around the room for a ‘count the room’ activity or they can be placed in a basket/bucket on a table for a stationery center activity.

Students look at the faces on the cards, count the number of faces and find the matching face to either write, trace or circle the number.

Choose the recording sheet that best matches the skill level of your students- no number writing assistance, trace the number or circle the number.

Other Ideas:
Use for centers, center extension activities and/or early finisher basket:
*Have students match face cards to number cards

*Place a set of these cards in a basket/bag.
Students can put them in order from least to most objects (or most to least).

*Partner match up- give ½ your students number cards and the other ½ pumpkin cards. They have to move about the room to find their ‘match’ partner

*Fall Sensory Bin- place artificial leaves, corn, oats, etc in your bin/bucket with cards.
Students pull and match the number card to picture cards.
