This pack offers engaging Depth and Complexity activities and a game to get your kids communicating, writing, creating, brainstorming, illustrating, and thinking! Get your students to hold collaborative conversations regarding Halloween rules, candy, costumes, and more! Remember Mad Libs? Your class with follow commands based on the icons to invent their own Halloween paragraph! Furthermore, your kiddos will even incorporate Halloween into their own math word problems in which they design based on Halloween clip art. Challenge your students to incorporate math they’re learning about in class! Below, you will find a brief description of each item included in this bundle.
Never used Depth and Complexity icons or frames in your classroom? No problem! None of your students are identified as GATE? Still not a problem! This packet is for all students and detailed directions are included for each page. I’ve used frames and the prompts of Depth and Complexity with all of my students (GATE or not), and they really enjoy it!
This bundle includes:
+ Simultaneous Round Table Stories:
Kids will work together silently as they write a sentence and pass on the story to the next student to add to what was already written. Four different pages with clip art are included along with a blank lined template if you’d like students to create their own illustration or if you’d like to modify the task.
+ Create and solve math word problems:
This can be differentiated for any grade level. It does not matter what kind of math your students are learning since they’ll be creating their own word problems based on the pictures included in the worksheet. Examples provided.
+ Haunted Mansion:
Design your own haunted mansion based upon the prompts of Depth and Complexity given on the rules sheet.
+ Creepy and Complex Mad Libs:
