I always loved doing a fun activity around Halloween, and this one fits right in with descriptive writing standards! This gives you everything you need to do for a fun descriptive writing activity where the students draw/model a pumpkin or witch. Then, they describe their creation in a detailed paragraph (at least 7 details...so a REALLY GOOD
paragraph!). You can then use it as a display where kids guess which witch or pumpkin matches the description, or use it as a class activity/discussion! No matter how you decide to do your activity, everyone will have a great time!
♦ Instructions and tips for both descriptive activities!
♦ Information sheets for students w/ rubric.
♦ Grading rubrics for you! (2 to a sheet)
♦ Descriptive writing paper for display if needed
♦ Number cards for both 2-D and 3-D creations!
This can be used as a "daily grade" or as a project. It is very versatile and easy to do! It if fun for you and the kids! I did it with fourth and third graders, and we all had a blast!
