I'm excited to share my Hallowe'en Writing and Word Work activities with you! Students explore one of their favourite seasons with these activites that focus on: descriptive writing, parts of speech, reading informational texts and building their vocabulary with word work games.
Hallowe'en Activities Include:
1. To be Frank - who let the cat out of the bag? - 16 idioms Hallowe'en style.
2. When Is Hallowe'en? - Students explore parts of speech: nouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs to create a poem. Small group suggestions and poetry samples are included.
3. Spiders Craftivity - Students explore informational texts on spiders. 4 day lesson suggestions are included.
4. Trouble Hallowe'en Version - DIY word work game with 56 Hallowe'en password cards focusing on: spell / guess the Hallowe’en character name, syllables, homophones, synonyms + antonyms, punctuation (telling sentence, question, exclamation), adding on (suffixes –ed, –ing, –s), sounds like “oo” + sounds like “e”, trick or treat (pop again).
