Second and third graders can handle separating fact and opinion. This activity is especially fun because it is centered around one of their favorite holidays.
The students read each card and decide if it is a fact or an opinion. Then they can place it on the Fact or Opinion card. There is also a recording sheet if your want your students to be accountable for their answers. An answer key is provided so it can be self checking.
This would work great in a literacy center, as a whole group, putting them on a document camera, in a small group, or in a read the room type activity.
