This product is a power point presentation with 6 different Halloween themed idioms. Each slide contains a title with the idiom, an example sentence using the idiom, a picture depicting the literal meaning of the idiom, and finally the actual meaning of the idiom.
I use this in my classroom by displaying it on the white board via projection. I give each student a small dry erase board. First, I present the idiom and the example sentence. Before showing the picture, I encourage students to draw their own picture using the dry erase board based on the sentence example. I then ask students to think about the true meaning of the idiom. Everyone shares the picture they drew and then their idea of what the idiom means. Finally, I show them the meaning of the idiom or provide them with further examples, as needed. If the students successfully determined the meaning, I ask them to use it in their own sentence.
