Lacing cards are great for building fine motor skills, and independent work

This contains 3 sets of lacing cards. Each set has 5 lacing cards in it.

Directions:

Please note: I use (and recommend) using cardstock paper. It will make these much more sturdy. If you cannot use cardstock, then use printer paper.

I also recommend laminating each card as it will help prolong the life of the cards.

Set #1:

1. Print the set and cut out each card.

2. Take a paper hole punch and punch out the circles that border the card.

3. If you choose, you can laminate each card (be sure to cut the corners so they are round, so they are not sharp).

4. I have the kids use shoe laces to lace them. I knot the back of the shoe laces so that the shoe lace doesn’t pull all the way through when the kids are lacing the cards. I prefer the shoe laces that are for dress shoes (the old fashion type), but what you use, is up to you.

5. They can lace them however they like, it doesn’t have to be in a straight line.

Set #2

1. Print the set and cut out each card.

2. Take a paper hole punch and punch out the circles that border the card.

3. If you choose, you can laminate each card (be sure to cut the corners so they are round, so they are not sharp).

4. Again, I have the kids use shoe laces to lace them. I knot the back of the shoe laces so that the shoe lace doesn’t pull all the way through when the kids are lacing the cards. I prefer the shoe laces that are for dress shoes (the old fashion type), but what you use, is up to you.

5. This set has the numbers 1-10 in order. The goal is for the kids to lace the card starting at the #1 and then lace through the #2 and so on.

Set #3

1. Print the set and cut out each card.

2. Take a paper hole punch and punch out the circles that border the card.

3. If you choose, you can laminate each card (be sure to cut the corners so they are round, so they are not sharp).

4. As with the previous sets, I have the kids use shoe laces to lace them. I knot the back of the shoe laces so that the shoe lace doesn’t pull all the way through when the kids are lacing the cards. I prefer the shoe laces that are for dress shoes (the old fashion type), but what you use, is up to you.

5. This set has the numbers 1-10 out of order. The goal is for the kids to lace the card starting at the #1 and then find the #2 and lace through that one, then find the #3 and lace through it and so on.
