Product Description
This Halloween-themed letter recognition game is always hugely popular with my kindergarten students each year! Use this game to review letter recognition for uppercase and lowercase letters, or to review letter sounds. Choose a card, but be forewarned….if you choose a ghost card, you’ll have to say BOO! This game is perfect for whole group or small group Halloween fun!

You will receive:
-26 Uppercase letter pumpkin cards
-26 Lowercase letter pumpkin cards
-6 Ghost/Boo cards (additional ghost cards can be printed if you wish)

To Prepare:
-Print the pumpkins that you prefer to use (upper or lowercase depending on your class needs). You can also choose to only use specific letters of focus that your students need extra practice with.
-Print the ghosts. I usually only add 6 ghosts to my set of pumpkins, but feel free to print additional ones if you wish!
-Cut apart the pumpkins and ghosts using the lines provided.
-Laminate the cards for durability.
-Mix up the letter cards and ghost cards and place in a fun Halloween-themed basket, bag, or plastic bowl.

To Play:
-Students take turns selecting a card. If they get a pumpkin card, they must identify the letter, name the sound, or name a word that begins with that letter (your choice; feel free to differentiate for student needs). But, if they get a ghost card, all players have to say “Boo!” The card then goes into a pile in the middle of the table or carpet. Continue passing the basket until all players have had a turn! I usually have students pull a card from the basket WITHOUT looking to eliminate students specifically pulling out the ghost card on every turn!!
I recommend introducing and playing this game with students, and then placing at a classroom center for extended practice during center time!
I hope your students love this game as much as mine do! Thank you for your purchase!
