Addition and Subtraction Zombie Attack Digital Escape Room
Get your students excited about addition and subtraction with this fun and engaging zombie attack themed breakout!
In this activity, students will work through slides that are designed to look and function like a video game. If students can answer all the problems correctly they will escape the zombie attack!
Skills included in this activity:
- Addition of 2-, 3-, 4- digit whole numbers and decimal amounts with regrouping
- Subtraction of 2-, 3-, 4- digit whole numbers and decimal amounts with regrouping
- To find missing addends, subtrahends, and minuends (variables)

Halloween Magic Math Potions: A Variables Activity
Channel your inner Potion Master and keep students engaged in learning around Halloween with this magical math potion-making activity.
Students will create a potion and *magically* conceal the potion recipe amounts using variables.
Groups will swap recipes and solve the math to successfully create another group's potion.
This download includes the following:
- Student workbooks (disguised as Advanced Potions textbooks) These workbooks walk students through potion making in three parts.
- Part One: Brainstorming a potion name, purpose, and explanation.
- Part Two: Selecting potion ingredients and disguising the ingredient amounts using variables.
- Part Three: Making another group's potion by solving their math problems to determine the correct ingredient amounts.
- Shopping list of optional materials to make this lesson engaging.
- Labels for potion ingredients (editable).
- Editable student workbook pages.
Editable: This download is editable with PowerPoint. Simply add a text box and insert your own content. If you want to match the fonts, I used Blackadder ITC (available for free with any updated version of Word) and HelloAnnie.
Place Value and Rounding Haunted House Digital Escape Room
Get your students excited about place value and rounding with this fun and engaging Haunted House themed escape room!
In this activity, students will work through slides that are designed to look and function like a video game. If students can answer all the problems correctly they will escape the haunted house!

- Converting between standard, expanded, word and unit form
- Identifying place value names up to hundred million
- Rounding up to hundred million
- Adding and Subtracting by 10, 100, & 1,000
