This series of monthly problem solving experiences for third, fourth, and fifth graders meets the Common Core Standards for Eight Mathematical Practices.
The problem solving process this time involves combining real-world common sense with the strategy of making an organized list. It is intentionally a little confusing at first because real life is like that! It is recommended for advanced third graders through sixth graders. Discussion is essential to this solution, so students should work in groups.
The Halloween Trick-or-Treat Meet would also make a great station activity for Halloween.
This activity can be enhanced by using my poster set of Eight Mathematical Practices. Please follow me at Rainbow City Learning for more each month from CeeCee Math!
