This fully digital activity connects students with two kid friendly article about Halloween. Literacy and math are integrated, as the students use information from the articles to solve math based questions. This activity can be done as a whole or separated into two smaller activities.

The first article allows students to explore the most popular Halloween candies in the country. Students are tasked with locating information about candy and applying those facts by estimating how much candy was sold. Students have the opportunity to learn about their home state.

The second article explores several facts about pumpkins. Students are asked to use information from the article to solve multi-step word problems involving facts from the article.
