PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Halloween Math and Literacy Centers are great hands on centers that incorporates what is going on in a child’s environment during the month of October. The themes will definitely catch their interest and keep them engaged during a very busy time! This unit is a combination of Halloween Math Centers and Halloween Literacy Centers.

Literacy Centers:

Tricky Treaters:
Alphabetical Order (L.K.1.A, RF.K.1.D): the boys and girls will order trick-or-treaters (uppercase letters) or treat-bags (lowercase letters) and write the letters on the recording sheet (L.K.1.A , RF.K.1.D).
Spooky Cat Letter Printables the boys and girls will fill in the missing uppercase or lowercase letters (RF.K.1.D, L.K.1.A)
Spooky Beginnings: the boys and girls will determine the beginning letter of Halloween themed words (RF.K.2.D).
Corny Beginnings Printable: the boys and girls will circle the beginning letter for each picture on the candy corn (RF.K.2.D)
Spin and Write Beginning Sounds: the boys and girls will spin the spinner and determine the first sound they hear from the picture. They will find the matching letter on the recording sheet and practice writing the letter (RF.K.2.D).
Spin and Write Ending Sounds: the boys and girls will spin the spinner and determine the ending sound they hear from the picture. They will find the matching letter on the recording sheet and practice writing the letter (RF.K.2.D).
Which Witch?: the boys and girls will sort words by word families (-at, -ap) (RF.K.2.C).
What Rhymes Under the Bed Printable?: the boys and girls will match/sort pictures by rhymes (RF.K.2.A).
Syllable Sort and Dob: the boys and girls will determine how many syllables each Halloween themed picture has. They can color or dab their findings on the recording sheet (RF.K.2.B).
Pumpkin Prize Sight Words: the boys and girls will roll the dice and trace the matching sight word (RF.K.3.C)
Sight Word Treat: the boys and girls will choose a sight word and write it under the "two" or "three" letter word label (RF.K.3.C).

Big Pumpkin Vocabulary Cards for Story Retelling/Role Playing and Write the Room: (RF.K.3.C)
Write the Room: the boys and girls will choose a card and practice writing the word (RF.K.3.C)
Sentence Build and Write: the boys and girls will order simple sentence and write or trace the sentences on the recording sheet (RF.K.1.B &RF.K.1.C).
Black Bat Reproducible: this is a teacher book that reads like "Brown Bear." This book focuses on color words (RF.K.4).
Black Bat Reproducible: the boys and girls will identify the color word and color the characters to match (RF.K.4).
Black Bat Color Words: (RF.K.3.C)
Black Bat Write the Room: the boys and girls will search the room for color words and write the words on their recording sheet (RF.K.3.C).


October Math Centers:

Nocturnal Number Order 1-10 (K.CC.A.1)
Nocturnal Number Order 1-15 (K.CC.A.1)
Weaving a Number Web: the boys and girls will match groups of spiders to numbers and record their findings (K.CC.B.5).
Missing Spider Mystery: students will find the missing number (K.CC.A.1).
“Witch” Pumpkin is Mine?: the boys and girls will match pumpkin ten frames to numbers on pumpkin pies to help the witch find her pumpkin (K.CC.B5).
Bat Count: students will count the total number of bats and write the number on the recording sheet (K.CC.A.1).
Numbers and Quantities Spin and Count(1-5): students will spin a spinner and count the total number of spooky objects. Then, they will practice writing the number on the recording sheet (K.CC.B.5).
Numbers and Quantities Spin and Count(6-10): students will spin a spinner and count the total number of spooky objects. Then, they will practice writing the number on the recording sheet (K.CC.B.5).
Spider Spin and Add: the boys and girls will spin the spinner twice and add of the flies to find the total number of flies each spider caught (they can also use a dice) (K.OA.A.1).
Spiders vs. Bats: students will compare groups of objects and determine which group is greater (K.CC.C.6).
Spooky Pet Matching Game the boys and girls will help the wizards find their pets by matching numbers to sets (K.CC.B.5).
Nocturnal Spin and color: the boys and girls will roll the dice and color the matching number (K.CC.A.1).
Five Little Pumpkin in a Row: the boys and girls will roll two dice and them together. Then they will color the matching number. (Dice Game) K.CC.A.1
Patterns
Batty Addition: the boys and girls will add the numbers or bats up to solve the number sentences (K.OA.A.1).
Magical Friends Count and Graph: the boys and girls will help the wizard count all of the creatures and color them on the graph (K.MD.A.1).
Number Path Printable:
My Pumpkin Ten Frame Reproducible: the boys and girls will write the missing numbers in the pumpkin book (RF.K.4).
