Have your students practice their multiplication facts by creating jack-o-lantern faces!
Halloween multiplication can be used as a small group or a whole class practice activity. A student draws a multiplication fact out of the EYE bag and determines the product. The student then matches this product to the page full of eyes and draws the set of eyes that matches his product. This is repeated for the nose and mouth. The students end up with silly jack-o-lantern faces and don't even realize they are practicing their facts! These completed jack-o-lanterns can be glued to large paper to create a pumpkin patch or as the students glue them down, they can write the problems next to their pumpkins to allow you to check their work. The best part of this activity is that it can be used over and over because the students love to see just how silly their different faces will be. Items included in this download are the teacher set up instruction sheet, Eyes, Nose, & Mouth product sheets, 6, 7, & 8 fact cards, and pumpkin templates. (Some format adjustments may be necessary in Word 2003.) Enjoy!
