Halloween Music Beat Strips & Rhythm Cards

- Zip

Description
This fun Halloween version of my Beat Strips for Rhythmic Notation and Dictation is a great way for students to create, notate, and dictate many rhythmic patterns! These work great for small group or individual work and are a fun addition to October themed centers.
This file is a great instructional manipulative that your students can use for notation and dictation. Using a beat strip in either 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, or unmarked meter, students can compose rhythmic patterns or take dictation from the teacher. The patterns for 2/4, 4/4, and unmarked meter can be 4 or 8 beats in length and the patterns in 3/4 meter can be 3 or 6 beats in length.
In addition to the Beat Strips and cards, I've included a large set of cards and a "mini" set of cards that can be used for whole or small group instruction with or without the beat strips.
The cards come in four forms:
1. Picture only
2. Picture with text (label)
3. Picture with text & rhythm
4. Picture with rhythm
The rhythms are written in both stick notation and rhythmic notation with note heads. Rhythms included are:
* "ta" or quarter note
* "ti-ti" or eighth notes
* "ta-o" or half note
* "tika-tika" or sixteenth notes
* "ti-tika" or "ti-tiri" or eighth-sixteenth-sixteenth notes
* "tika-tik" or "tiri-ti" or sixteenth-sixteenth-eighth notes.
This is a great assessment tool for all grade levels!!
