What educators are saying

This is my first major writing of the year, and is so much fun! My students came up with the best stories! Can't wait to use this again in the fall.
This was perfect to enhance our science unit! My students were fully engaged from start to finish! They loved planning, writing and sharing their stories! Thank you for a great resource!

Description

This Pumpkin Narrative Writing was created for 2nd-5th grade students. Students write a narrative about how they got trapped in a pumpkin! They will write about how they got trapped in the pumpkin, what happened inside, and how they got out. I use this in October during our force and motion unit, so students must also use a simple machine to get out of the pumpkin. Students love this fun Halloween themed narrative writing activity. This covers the following simple machines: Wedge, Screw, Pulley, Lever, Wheel & Axle and Inclined Plane.

What’s Included:

➜ Notes for simple machine reminders (Wedge, Screw, Pulley, Lever, Wheel & Axle, Inclined Plane)

➜ Assignment sheet

➜ 2 versions of graphic organizers

➜ Differentiated writing papers for all levels of learners in your class
