Use these custom templates in the classroom or the computer lab to give students a chance to create narratives in the “Mad Lib” fashion.
Even very young students who aren’t yet able to write sentences are able to learn about word processing with these "fillable forms" templates. Students practice clicking in text fields, hunting and pecking letters on the keyboard to type one or two words that complete starter sentences, then clicking in the next field or an empty space when they finish. They are so proud when they create their first publications to take home.
Two templates are included. One is designed for use with kindergarten through second grade students. The second template is designed to be used with third through sixth grade students. All students develop media literacy and word processing skills while practicing English and writing skills to support core content.
Make the activity as simple or as complex as you like to match your curriculum and your needs.
Materials are provided in Microsoft Word format, and instructional samples are included.
