I use this bulletin board in October next to my calendar. I use it as a challenging activity for those students who are always finished with their work early. The printable pieces are meant to be cut out and laminated. I back my cut-outs with construction paper before I laminate them. This gives them extra color and support. The pages are editable so you can make changes if necessary.
Students choose a hook (story starter) and create a rough draft that meets the rubric requirements. I edit it and return it to them for a final copy. Once they make a final copy on the stationary, I give them a prize. Students can then share their prize winning stories with the class. This has been a great motivational piece to encourage independent writing and self editing. I hope your kids enjoy it as much as mine! *Calendar and border not included.
