Are you looking for a fun way to review prime factorization with your students? This activity is perfect! Great for either collaborative group work, center work, or an independent/partner activity.
You can cut candy corn into 3 pieces, and students put them back together on a candy corn template page. Top (white) of the candy corn has the product, middle (orange) has the factors (some in exponential form), and bottom(yellow) states whether it is a prime/composite number.
You can put the cut pieces in a Ziploc bag. and the students' job is to work out each of their products' prime factorization on their large candy corn template (which can be easily slipped into a dry erase pouch). Once they work out the prime factorization for each product piece, they can piece each candy corn together to create a match.
