This fun, high interest literacy product keeps beginning readers engaged in the reading/writing process using Halloween characters and symbols as a theme. This is a match the picture with the correct sentence cut and glue activity with a "twist". Instead of finding the matching sentence, students preview all 4 pictures on the page, then locate a QUESTION that might be asked about the picture. Students glue these questions under the correct picture, then write the answer to the question on the primary lines provided. Answering with a written response that makes sense and is a complete sentence using the proper conventions is the goal, which aligns well with the ELA portion of the Common Core State Standards.
The packet includes:
-10 worksheets, each with four Halloween pictures, space for gluing, and writing lines
-5 sheets (2 worksheets per paper) of questions to cut out
-a multiple page answer key with (in most cases) more than one possible "right" answer for each question to make grading happen in a timely fashion; however, teacher judgment should be used making decisions about student responses-both content and conventions- to suit the needs of his or her students.
Thank you so much for your interest in my product. Please leave feedback- the comments of my colleagues are very valuable to me as I continue to create instructional materials for the classroom.
