Let all your students in on the Halloween fun. This 4-page, 6-part Halloween readers' theater script is especially written for emergent and early transitional readers with simplified language and repetition. The details:
2 Versions of the Script : The first version has pictures over difficult, less frequent, non-CVC, words to help the students read them. The second version removes these pictures, once the students are ready for this extra challenge.
Parts are at DRA levels 2 - 8 as follows:
o Emergent (roughly DRA 2-4): Erika, Anna, Bob
o High Emergent (roughly DRA 6): Dad
o Early Transitional (roughly DRA 8): Mom, Narrator
Full-sized Character Images for each of the scripts which can be used to:
• make hats or hung around the necks of the readers, to identify for the audience the part they are reading.
• make “puppet shows” where the students create “in character” dialogues.
• classify characters, for example as good or naughty, funny or serious.
