Let all your students in on the Halloween fun. This 4-page, 6-part Halloween readers' theater script is especially written for emergent readers with simplified language and repetition. The details:
2 Versions of the Script
: The first version has pictures over difficult, less frequent, non-CVC, words to help the students read them. The second version removes these pictures, once the students are ready for this extra challenge.
Parts are at DRA levels 2 - 6 as follows:
o Emergent (roughly DRA 2-4): Pumpkin 1, Pumpkin 2, Pumpkin 3, Pumpkin 4, Pumpkin 5
o High Emergent (roughly DRA 6): Narrator

• make hats or hung around the necks of the readers, to identify for the audience the part they are reading.
• make “puppet shows” where the students create “in character” dialogues.
