Reading Passage - The reading passage explains that Halloween is a holiday celebrated worldwide on October 31st. The Halloween we celebrate today is a combination of an ancient Celtic holiday called Samhain and the Catholic All Hallows' Eve. It goes on to describe how Halloween is celebrated, including costumes, trick-or-treating, carving pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns, parades, bonfires, and haunted houses.

Students color and assemble the haunted house, gluing tissue paper in the windows, then place it on top of a battery powered tea light to create a lantern.
