Reinforce Quarter Notes (one sound to a beat) and Paired Eighth Notes (two sounds to a beat) with this fun fall Candy Corn Rhythms Worksheet!
Each candy corn image equals one beat.
You can use a quarter note to show one sound in a beat, as in the word "corn".
You can use a pair of eighth notes to show two equal sounds in the same beat, as in the word "candy".
Look at the patterns. Tap each (candy corn) to keep the beat steady. As you tap each beat, speak the word “candy” for the (eighth note) rhythms, and “corn” for the (quarter note) rhythms. Then clap each pattern or play them on rhythm instruments!
Have students create their candy corn rhythm patterns.
