Halloween Scar Stories allow your students to get in the mood for scary Halloween Stories! In this descriptive/narrative writing lesson, students will learn about how writing with description and detail can make a story shine! Students are asked to think of an injury" they once had- could be anything from a paper cut to a broken leg- and write a descriptive account of that occurrence. This is meant to be light-hearted and entertaining. They are encouraged to exaggerate as necessary to make their writing appeal to a variety of audiences. Students will also be encouraged to self-edit using a provided checklist. This comes in a pdf for to print and go, or a Word document which can be customized to meet the needs of your classroom.
