This packet contains 12 (plus 4 bonus) Halloween-themed task cards. Each task card requires students to complete the multi-step questions, using the four operations, to solve how many trick-or-treaters visited each house on Halloween night.
The fourth grade standards covered are:
4.NBT.4 - Fluently add and subtract multi-digit whole numbers using the standard algorithm.
4.NBT.5 - Multiply a whole number of up to four digits by a one-digit whole number.
4.NBT.6 - Find whole number quotients and remainders with up to four-digit dividends and one-digit divisors.
These task cards can be used:
- As a group activity: Post the cards around your room and allow students to move around, completing the questions.
- As a small group or individual activity: Keep the task cards in a math center for independent practice.
Two recording sheets are provided. Both recording sheets provides space for all 12 (+4) task card answers. The first sheet is full-page and provides space for students to record their work and answers. If students choose to record their work in a notebook or on lined paper, the second sheet can be provided. This recording sheet is half-page and is best suited to only record answers.
