Product Description
Halloween task cards with photos! These task cards for Halloween integrate making Inferences for a wonderful October ELA center. The October task cards challenge students to read task card clues, make an inference about the described Halloween vocabulary words, record answers on their answer sheet, and match labeled vocabulary photos to the task card clues. The Halloween vocabulary pictures are great for supporting ELLs and visual learners during the week of October 31st!

The labeled Halloween photos double nicely as colorful Halloween word wall cards.

Halloween Words Included:
black cat
haunted house
pumpkin patch
spider webs
trick or treat

Set-Up Directions:
Print the task cards and cut in quarters to separate the four cards on each page. (I like to print them on colored paper and laminate to use over and over.) Post the task cards around the classroom (My students love when I build the excitement by hiding a couple cards under tables and behind doors). Alternatively, you may place all of the cards at an ELA or reading center.
Pass out the student response sheets. Ask students to read the words in the word bank to determine what the words have in common. Direct them to check their answer at the bottom left of the sheet. (Answer: They all have to do with school!)

Student Task: 2 Ways to Play
*(Option 1)
Independently or in pairs, students locate task cards with their copy of the student response sheet. Students read the clues carefully to determine which word bank word is being described. The cards can be read in any order. Students simply record their answers on the line that matches the number on the bottom left of each task card.

*(Option 2)
Provide students with the task cards AND color photographs displaying the labeled images of the vocabulary terms. Students match the picture cards and task card descriptions. Finally, students record their answers on the response sheet.
