Practice using cardinal directions (north, south, east, west) using this Halloween themed "trick or treat" map. Write the names of each of your students under a house. Make sure to put your name on one of the houses as well! You can copy a sheet for each student or use the copy with the names on it under a document camera. You start by picking a name (I put all the names in a pumpkin bucket) and you give the directions to the student from your house to their house. Each dot represents a stop sign. Give directions (ex: go west, go south, go south, go east) until you reach the house of the student you picked. Once there, go to that students desk and say "trick or treat". You can provide candy for each child to give out, a small toy or just get a smile. The game ends by the last person coming back to your house. This is a fun way to practice cardinal directions!!! My kids love it!
