shows a picture of the target vocabulary word on the task card and the sentence starter "I am a ___" for students to complete. This set is aimed at ELLs with lower language proficiency and younger students who are learning to read.
consists of task cards with a picture of the target vocabulary word and a 1-sentence description of the picture, followed by the question "What am I?" and 3 multiple-choice answers. This set is aimed at intermediate proficiency level ELLs and native English speakers.
has the same "What am I?" questions and pictures as Set 2 but instead of the multiple-choice answers, students record their own responses and must also identify the key words in the sentences that helped them find the answers. This set is aimed at ELLs with advanced level proficiency and native English-speaking students.
There are 3 ways students can record their answers:
a) They can type their responses directly onto each Google Slide™
b) They can use the separate Answer Sheet
slide that is included in every set
c) You can print out the answer sheets and students can write their responses on the paper forms.
The vocabulary words in this resource included are: apple, bat, broom, candy, cat, cauldron, cemetery, coffin, costume, ghost, jack o'lantern, moon, mummy, pumpkin, skeleton, skull, trick or treat, vampire, witch, zombie.
