In this highly-engaging Halloween Holiday lesson, students complete three hands-on activities to learn about the history and origins of Halloween.
Students complete a guided reading assignment with "check-in's" to make sure they are understanding the content. In this first activity, students are introduced to this holiday's Celtic (Celts) origin, the Samhain festival, Druids, the Roman festival of Pamona, and Christian influence of All Saint's Day!
Then, students investigate a Halloween Facts worksheet to familiarize themselves further with this holiday!
Students then take their knowledge and put it on display by completing a "News Cast" assignment where they, in the shoes of journalists, compile a report that explains the origins of this day! A close-reading crossword puzzle activity is also included to engage all students at any part in this activity!
