Halloween – Who am I? (Grades 1-2)
This pack will enrich the oral language skills of your students while stretching them to write and use adjectives through dressing up for Halloween.
Brainstorm - Use the following pages (color or black and white) to list what your students might choose to wear as a costume for Halloween.
Cards - Color copy and laminate. They can be used in the following ways
a) Shuffle and choose one to orally describe
b) Shuffle and choose one to write about - writing template provided
c) Choose one and draw and then write – drawing/writing template provided
d) Choose one and orally describe to a buddy, get them to guess what they are dressed as
Word Splash - Use the following pages (color or black and white) to describe what your students may wear as a costume for Halloween.
Interactive Notebook - Each of these pages allow you to record
a) What is the costume? Why did you choose it?
b) What do you need to organize?
c) Draw and label it?
There is a template to record your own choice
Class recount - Use the following pages for each child to write about how they dressed up for Halloween. When they have drawn an illustration to match, staple and make a class book. There are four covers to choose from. There is an additional writing page if you have students who need more lines to write on.
