Description
Teens need to celebrate Halloween with something a little more sophisticated that ghosts and ghouls. These fantastic writing prompts are the perfect opportunity for students to enjoy the season and develop their creative writing skills.
So here you have 20 grisly writing prompts (from students going missing on school trip to wild animals deciding to reclaim the planet). Each one is presented on its own page with lines printed and a suggested 250 word story prompt. In addition to this, each story prompt is also included on a page with my 3 step plan to improving creative writing. This encourages students to create a 5-point plan, to use a variety of creative writing techniques, and to use sophisticated and unusual vocabulary.

# As a bell-ringer task, allocate the same prompt to every student or let them choose
# As a daily writing task across a series of lesson
# As a homework choice selection
# As part of your writing workshop or journal time
# As a writing competition across your whole school this Halloween!
